Surya's Album

"Surya's writing is delightfully varied, mining a variety of genres - folk, blues, jazz... in the great tradition of female singer-songwriters of the 60's like Joni Mitchell and Carole King. Surya is a natural songwriter and storyteller with a voice that is both pure and warm, like silk at the top and velvet in her deeper range. She beautifully and delicately manipulates the narrative thread across her considerable range, and there is a humour and personality that shines through. I thoroughly enjoy listening to Mischief and I'm looking forward to her next album." Best review ever, thanks to Melanie who I met at Bluesweek.
