Rules of the Game
This song came about as a challenge for a songwriting competition, to write a theme song for a notional James Bond film with the title, Rules of the Game. I had this melody which would not leave me alone for a few weeks (this is called an Earworm or Ohrwurm in the original German) and took quite a while to perfect. By the wonders of a little gadget I sent it via email to the wonderful John Hudson to ask him to come up with some lyrics as I was struggling which he did over a weekend! This was the first lyrics...they have since changed. You can hear the full track with electric guitars and a fantastic band and backing vocals. here suryakcooper.bandcamp.com/releases I also sing it alot lower these days! Can you hear the influences?

Patience
I wanted to write a song that enabled me to sing in my "higher" voice, having developed more of a lower, Bluesey, sound.
We had such fun in the studio recording this ! It's not the final take that's on the album but it's lovely to see everyone..aged from 17 to 70 here.

Blame it on the New Moon
During a rather off-the-wall conversation with the amazing Catherine Paver at a party, this phrase came up and I thought it would make a great song title. After a strange sequence of events including a minor car crash, I decided there was some humour to be found in the cycles of the moon and women's hormones! Hence this song arose!
